Practise Multiplication Year 2
What is Practise Maths? On Practise Maths, you can practise multiplication at your own level. You get to set the difficulty of the exercises yourself. You can practise all tables up to 12, and you can even mix different tables together. For example, you can practise the 3, 6, and 9 times tables all at once. Each exercise consists of 15 questions. At the end of the exercise, your score will be displayed. If you get more than 13 correct answers, your time score will also show up. When both scores—the number of correct answers and the time—are displayed in a green box, it means you have successfully completed the exercise. This way, you can practise your maths fluency. The design is made easy for you so that you can quickly restart your exercises.
In addition to practicing, you can play maths games to improve your maths fluency. For example, check out the interactive maths game Bouncer! Here too, you can choose which problems you want to practise. At the end of the game, you will receive a high score that you can try to beat next time!
How does it work?
Practise Maths was created by a teacher with the aim of making maths practise attractive, accessible, and, most importantly, fun for students. Because you have full control over what you want to practise, you can tailor your learning to your needs and level. Practise Maths focuses especially on maths fluency, helping students become faster at solving problems they already know.
The adding and subtraction games, as well as the adding and subtraction exercises on Practise Maths, are completely free. There are no premium accounts needed to practise as much as you want! A student can practise all day long if they wish, and this will always be the case. Plus, Practise Maths is constantly updated with new content.
Curriculum
In Year 1, students first encounter adding and subtracting numbers. They are expected to learn a lot after the first year, including:
- Counting in steps of 2, 5, and 10, and understanding that, for example, 3 × 2 is the same as 2 + 2 + 2.
- Using sharing and grouping to solve division problems.
- Beginning to understand the relationship between multiplication and division.
At Practise Maths, all these elements can be practised quickly. This way, your child will be ready for Year 2 and the SAT that goes with it!
