Practise Year 4 Addition and Subtraction
With Practise Maths, you can learn to calculate for Year 4 addition and subtraction. The platform features a mix of maths games and maths exercises to improve your maths fluency. Before starting an exercise, you can choose which sums you want to practise, such as addition and subtraction up to 100 or 1000. You can also practise combined addition and subtraction. Each exercise consists of 15 questions. Once you correctly answer 13 out of 15 questions, your time score will be displayed. If you break your previous score, a green bar will appear, indicating that you are making great progress!
To make practicing addition and subtraction for Year 4 even more enjoyable, you can also play maths games on Practise Maths. Before starting the exercise, you can select which addition or subtraction problems you will practise. For example, try the game Space Race, where you dodge obstacles with your spaceship by answering all the problems correctly. Aim for the highest possible score, and compare it with your friends to see who can be the best in class!

Curriculum
In Year 4, the following skills are expected:
- Solving addition and subtraction problems with numbers up to four digits, using various methods, including objects, diagrams (such as grids and number lines), and written methods like adding and subtracting columns.
- Estimating answers to addition and subtraction problems before calculating them accurately.
- Solving two-step word problems, which require two different calculations to arrive at the final answer.
