Practise Addition and Subtraction Year 3
Make maths fun by engaging in both exercises and maths games to practise addition and subtraction for Year 3. With Practise Maths, you can easily work at your own level. For maths exercises, you can set the addition and subtraction problems you want to practise, even up to sums of 1000! You can choose to work with tens within the range of 100 or tens that go over the hundreds. If you find sums up to 1000 challenging, you can start with sums up to 100.
Each exercise consists of 15 problems. Once you answer 13 questions correctly, your time will also be displayed. If you're not satisfied with your score, you can easily retake the exercise. If you improve your own time score, the bar will turn green. So, aim to be as quick as possible!
To make practicing maths even more enjoyable, there are also maths games available. For instance, you can practise addition and subtraction by playing the game Space Race. Avoid all obstacles and try to achieve the highest possible score! You can compare this score with your friends, making it a fun challenge to be the best in class!

Curriculum
In Year 3, students are expected to use a range of strategies to solve problems and learn written methods for adding and subtracting columns. This includes:
- Adding and subtracting numbers with up to three digits.
- Estimating answers to problems before working them out and checking using the inverse operation.
- Explaining how they solved a problem and why they chose a particular method.
With Practise Maths, you will learn to practise addition and subtraction up to three-digit numbers. You will also improve your maths fluency by solving a variety of problems. You can do this through maths exercises and fun maths games. Compete against your friends and become the best of them all!
