Practise Year 2 Addition and Subtraction
At Practise Maths, you can practise addition and subtraction at your own level for Year 2. This platform offers a mix of maths exercises and maths games. You have complete control over the types of problems your child practises. You can choose to work on addition or subtraction problems up to 6, 10, or 20. If you're looking to advance further, you can even select problems up to 100 or 1000. Additionally, it’s possible to combine addition and subtraction in your practise.
Each exercise consists of 15 questions. If you answer 13 out of 15 questions correctly, your time will also be displayed. The exercises are designed for easy repetition. If you improve your score from the previous exercise, a green bar will appear on the screen.
To make practising maths even more enjoyable, you can also play maths games to enhance your maths fluency. In these games, you can set up the addition and subtraction problems you want to practise in advance. After the game, you'll see a score that can be compared to any high score, making learning maths even more fun!
How does it work?
Practise Maths was developed by a teacher with the goal of making maths more accessible and enjoyable for children. The platform primarily focuses on improving children's maths skills. You have complete control over which exercises you want to do, allowing you to tailor them to their level and needs. This way, Practise Maths ensures that you learn to do maths faster and smarter!
The adding and subtraction games and adding and subtraction exercises on Practise Maths are completely free. This allows you to practise without extra costs at times that suit you best. The platform is regularly updated with new content, keeping it current.
Curriculum
In Year 2, children are expected to solve addition and subtraction problems using one- and two-digit numbers. This includes:
- Knowing and using addition and subtraction problems up to 20, and working on related addition and subtraction problems up to 100.
- Adding and subtracting numbers using objects, pictures, and drawings.
- Understanding the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction, recognizing that they undo each other, and using this knowledge to check their calculations.
Practising on Practise Maths for adding and subtraction in Year 2 prepares you well for the Year 2 SAT. This assessment includes problems that you practise on Practise Maths, allowing you to improve your maths fluency in a fun and easy way!
